The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: Isabelle goes from Paris party girl to protective nun aunt as zombie apocalypse hits France on AMC show
Isabelle went from being a Paris party girl to a protective nun aunt on Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon on AMC
The second episode of the spin-off series titled Alouette opened with Isabelle [Clémence Poésy] in Paris partying in a club with New Order's Blue Monday playing.
She snorted lines of cocaine, danced and pilfered watches before leaving the club with a shriek being heard from the crowd.
Isabelle walked outside for a cigarette by the brightly lit Eiffel Tower and looked on as people screamed amid a zombie attack.
She walked into a subway station and watched in horror as a train rolled by slowly with people screaming inside as they were attacked by zombies.
Isabelle fled the platform and was shocked as a car accident victim turned into a zombie and started to stalk her.
She was rescued by Quinn [Adam Nagaitis] who hit the zombie with his vehicle before whisking Isabelle away.
Quinn offered to get Isabelle out of Paris with him, but she insisted that she needed a change of clothes.
Isabelle retrieved her sister Lily [Faustine Koziel] and told Quinn that she couldn't leave her behind.
She had a haunting conversation with a little girl named Aimee before they left who said her father didn't come home and her mother has been crying on the phone.
The episode then returned to the present with Isabelle, Daryl [Norman Reedus], Laurent [Louis Puech Scigliuzzi] and Sylvie [Laïka Blanc-Francard] riding together on a mule-drawn wagon.
The whining mule drew walkers and Daryl let it go so they could escape.
They were walking in the woods when they heard whistling and were suddenly attacked.
Daryl was knocked down and surrounded by a group who raised their masks revealing they were children.
They were taken into a compound that Isabelle revealed used to be a pre-school.
A girl named Lou [Kim Higelin] quizzed them and Isabelle said 'Father Daryl' was from America.
The group was made up of children whose parents did not come to pick them up from the preschool as the zombie apocalypse took place.
'Not bad for being little road bandits,' Daryl said as they gave him a tour.
They met Madame Dubois who lie sick in bed and Lou said she was their teacher who stayed with them.
Lou invited them to dinner and asked 'Father Daryl' to lead them in a prayer of thanks.
'Ummm, Lord, I'm sure you had your reasons for turning the whole world upside down. Maybe we deserve it for being so mean to each other. We probably do deserve it. But not tonight. No, tonight is good. And if this isn't good enough for you, I don't know what is. Amen,' Daryl said.
Lou shared that Madame Dubois taught them that 'manners are a mirror that shows our portrait' as Daryl slurped his soup and the children at the table copied him.
'Mmm, that's good soup,' Daryl said as the kids laughed.
Daryl asked where they could get another mule and the kids told him about La Tarasque, who lives in a castle and has horses.
Lou said the man took all the supplies from the village and they once tried to raide his castle but failed.
Daryl said La Tarasque probably has medicine to save their teacher and Lou agreed to go with him the next morning to the castle.
He slept in the same bed with Isabelle and admitted to lying about the medicine being able to help their teacher.
'I feel sorry for them. Not to know what the world was like before,' Isabelle said.
'You can't miss what you never had,' Daryl said.
A flashback showed Lily in pain while getting out of Paris with Isabelle and Quinn.
Lily admitted that she's been pregnant for months and Quinn said they couldn't take her.
Isabelle said that she agreed with him, but stole Quinn's keys and drove away.
They came across an ambulance, but it turned out to be filled with zombies.
Isabelle took her sick sister to an abbey where a priest delivered her baby right after Lily died and turned into a zombie.
The baby was called a miracle and Isabelle kept her promise to take care of her sister's baby.
Daryl helped the kids storm the castle and cornered their target, who was a fellow American named RJ Gaines from Texas.
'Take him back to Lou. Let her decide what to do with this piece of shit,' Daryl said.
RJ complained that the 'little psychos' would kill him and begged to be released.
Daryl and RJ started fighting and jumped into a courtyard below them.
RJ was on a rope but zombies clawed at him and brought him down.
Daryl was rescued by the kids and got the horse that he wanted.
Meanwhile, back at the abbey Codron examined the map on the wall and figured out Daryl's destination of Le Havre.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will return next week on AMC.
